Proof of Work (PoW)

A consensus mechanism in which participants compete to solve a computationally intensive puzzle, with the winner earning the right to add the next block to the chain.

Applied: Bitcoin remains the largest and most secure Proof of Work network, with its enormous accumulated hash rate making a 51% attack economically implausible.
