Chain Reorganisation (Reorg)

An event in which a node replaces a portion of its existing blockchain with a different, longer or heavier chain of blocks, typically resolving a temporary fork.

Example: Bitcoin occasionally experiences small one-block reorgs due to network latency; deep reorgs are rare and treated as a security red flag when they occur.
