A cryptographic method that allows one party to prove to another that a statement is true without revealing any underlying information beyond the statement’s validity.
Origin: first formalised by Shafi Goldwasser, Silvio Micali, and Charles Rackoff in 1985; applied today by privacy chains like Zcash and scaling solutions like zkSync.
