A consensus mechanism in which a limited set of pre-approved, identifiable validators are responsible for producing and confirming blocks, often used in private or consortium networks.
Applied: the VeChainThor blockchain uses Proof of Authority with a vetted set of around 101 ‘Authority Masternodes’ run by known enterprise partners.
