Padding (Cryptography)

Additional data added to a message before encryption to meet a required block size or to obscure the original message’s length.

Applied: padding schemes such as PKCS#7 are used in wallet software’s encryption layer to ensure private key data fits cleanly into fixed block sizes before encryption.
