Maximal Extractable Value (MEV)

The maximum value that can be extracted by a block producer through their ability to include, exclude, or reorder transactions within a block they create.

Applied: MEV-Boost, adopted widely by Ethereum validators after the Merge, is designed to fairly distribute the value extractable from transaction ordering rather than letting it concentrate among a few sophisticated actors.
