Digital Signature

A cryptographic mechanism that proves a message or transaction originated from the holder of a specific private key and has not been altered since signing.

Applied: every Bitcoin and Ethereum transaction is signed using ECDSA, cryptographically proving the sender authorised the transfer without revealing their private key.
